Accounting​/Finance Specialist

Manage financial operations including bookkeeping, invoicing, expense tracking, and financial reporting for government and commercial surveying contracts. Support project billing and ensure compliance with accounting standards.

As Accounting/Finance Specialist at LNM
1968, you'll handle all aspects of financial management for our LiDAR and mapping operations. You'll process invoices, track project costs, manage accounts payable and receivable, prepare financial reports, and coordinate with project managers on billing and budget tracking.

This role requires strong accounting knowledge, experience with government contracting billing, and attention to detail. You'll workwith project teams to ensure accurate cost tracking and timely invoicing for our surveying and geospatial services contracts.

• Process accounts payable and receivable for project operations
• Generate and submit invoices for government and commercial contracts
• Track project costs, expenses, and budget utilization
• Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements
• Process contractor payments and track 1099 documentation
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Coordinate with external accountants for tax preparation
• Maintain organized financial records and documentation

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 3+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
• Proficiency with Quick Books, Xero, or similar accounting software
• Strong understanding of GAAP and basic accounting principles
• Experience with accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong Excel skills including pivot tables and VLOOKUP

• CPA, CMA, or other professional accounting certification
• Experience with government contract billing and WAWFsystem
• Knowledge of FAR cost accounting standards
• Experience in professional services or project-based industries
• Familiarity with 1099 contractor tax requirements
