Interim Controller

November 2026 - March 2027 | Remote, DMV area preferred

• Own the monthly multi-entity close, including the December 2026/year-end close, intercompany reconciliations, consolidation entries and eliminations, and entity-level and consolidated reporting.
• Coordinate the accounting team's close work and remain hands-on in reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and schedules for revenue, payroll, prepaids, fixed assets, leases, and other material accounts.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and established management, board, sponsor, and lender reporting schedules for CFO review.
• Lead day-to-day audit coordination: manage the auditor request list, prepare and review supporting schedules, reconcile financial statements to the GL, and track proposed adjustments and open items with the CFO.
• Partner with revenue-cycle and payroll teams to validate source data, maintain established accounting calculations, and accelerate unusual revenue, or collection, trends to the CFO.
• Keep process documentation current, coordinate targeted improvements with the CFO, and deliver a documented return handoff with current schedules, audit status, significant decisions, and an open-items tracker with owners and next steps.

• Demonstrated ownership of a multi-entity close, including intercompany accounting, consolidation entries and eliminations, and entity-level and consolidated reporting.
• Recent, expert-level, hands-on Net Suite experience with close activities, journal-entry imports, saved searches, account analysis, and financial reporting; comfortable operating in the system daily.
• Strong U.S. GAAP knowledge and sound accounting judgment across revenue, payroll-related accruals, fixed assets, leases, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prior responsibility for year-end close and external financial statement audit coordination, including direct interaction with auditors during fieldwork.
• Advanced Excel skills and the ability to understand, maintain, and reconcile existing accounting schedules.
• Ability to coordinate and review others' work while remaining hands-on, meet reporting deadlines, and work independently with appropriate escalation.
• Availability for the November-December overlap with current Controller during part time-phase, and full-time January-March coverage, with working hours aligned to Eastern Time.

• Healthcare services experience, including net collection rates, revenue recognition, and revenue-cycle concepts.
• Private-equity-backed experience; multi-state experience and prior interim Controller assignments are also valuable.
• CPA.
• Familiarity with Workday and/or Lumary.

Term: Approximately November 1, 2026, through March 31, 2027.

Schedule: Part time in November and December (approximately 20 hours per week); full-time January through March.

Location: Remote; candidates in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. are preferred for scheduled in-person training.

Compensation: $90-$110 per hour.

Structure: Contract / interim engagement.
