* Position Summary:

** The Cost Accountant is responsible for overseeing, analyzing, and validating cost expenditures and reduction initiatives within the plant. Review manufacturing process activities; record and validate data; make recommendations about cost-efficient and financially feasible cost options.

* Primary Responsibilities:

*** Analyze manufacturing activities and document/validate changes in process to determine what effect it has on the cost
* Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs
* Provide management with reports that specify and compare factors that affect product profitability
* Work with CI/process teams to drive continuous improvement
* Analyze and recommend cost and cost savings
* Monitor the inventory cycle count adjustments
* Prepare and complete internal cost audits according to GAAP
* Maintain accuracy in the (SAP/ERP) system
* Cost savings from improvement initiatives
* Speed and accuracy of plant profitability drivers
* Accuracy in cycle count adjustments
* Plant performance leading indicators
* Accuracy in program profitability (Burden model)

Qualifications:

*** Bachelor degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience; CPA or MBA preferred
* 2+ years of cost accounting work experience (essential)
* Knowledge of SAP
* Knowledgeable on statistics
* Meet key competencies for the job
* Proficient in using Microsoft Office suite
* Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills
* Meticulous attention to detail with strong organizational skills
* Ability to meet strict deadlines
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Ability to understand the manufacturing process
* Excellent report-writing, communication and IT skills
* Good understanding of costing principles and systems
