This is a full-time, non-exempt position located at the Converge headquarters in Orlando, Florida. The General Ledger Accountant reports to the Senior Staff Accountant and is responsible for supporting the mission and operational goals of Converge by performing key functions related to accounting. This role contributes to the effectiveness of the organization by fostering collaboration, demonstrating accountability, and successfully carrying out responsibilities that support the mission and goals of Converge.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals and adjustments for month-end closing.
- Completes monthly bank reconciliation.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Maintains fixed asset ledgers and depreciation schedules.
- Facilitates creation of projects and master numbers.
- Assists with monthly investment schedule reconciliations.
- Supports preparation and review of financial statements, balance sheet schedules, and budget variance analyses, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Assist internal and external audits by providing documentation, explanations, and implementing audit recommendations
- Update documentation of business processes, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and optimize accounting procedures.
- Collaborate with accounts payable duties and serve as backup.
- Other duties as assigned.
This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEBachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university and 2 years of related professional experience and/or training.
LANGUAGE SKILLSMust possess strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to read, interpret, analyze, and apply information from reports, professional publications, procedural guidelines, business correspondence, and applicable regulations. Demonstrates diplomacy, discernment, professionalism, and cultural sensitivity in all interactions. Ability to write clear reports, correspondence, policies, procedures, and training materials. Must be able to effectively present information, communicate with individuals and groups, and respond thoughtfully to questions from employees, managers, leaders, vendors, and constituents.
COMPUTERSKILLS
Must demonstrate the ability to effectively use computers, common office technology, and software applications necessary to perform the essential functions of the position. This may include proficiency with productivity tools, organizational systems, databases, communication platforms, and role‑specific software (e.g. MS365).
