** The Accountant role within the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office is critical in ensuring the financial integrity and accurate reporting within the organization. Our department has four Accountant positions, and the following job tasks encompass duties from all four roles.

** We Require
*** One year of experience in auditing, government finance/accounting, grant accounting or budgeting
* Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, mathematics or closely related field
* A combination of post-secondary education in accounting, finance, business administration, mathematics or a closely related field and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis
** Other Requirements
*** The Maricopa County Attorney’s Office requires a thorough background check of all successful candidates and is authorized to test prospective employees for the presence of illegally accessed drugs. Drug testing is conduced once an offer has been extended and prior to placement
* MCAO Accountant assignments can include Fleet, RICO, Asset and Grants  + To be eligible for the fleet role, the candidate must currently possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona Driver’s License at the time of hire  + To be eligible to assist with grants, the candidate must successfully complete the grantor's required training within three months of hire
