Overview
In this role you will oversee accounting and finance activities for multiple real estate clients within a shared services setup, guiding the Controller function and leveraging a cloud-based technology stack. You will interact with client executives and cross-functional teams to analyze financial data, drive process improvements, and ensure timely close and reporting. The position blends public accounting rigor with private-company operations, offering growth through leadership and technology adoption.

- Manage day-to-day accounting and finance functions for multiple clients in a shared services environment in a Controller capacity
- Work with client technology environments and the FaaS tech stack
- Lead, coach, and develop client services staff at various levels
- Review monthly financial statements and variance/budget-to-actual analyses
- Provide actionable financial insights and decision support to client management
- Identify opportunities to optimize monthly operations and implement process improvements
- Understand and expand the FaaS tech stack, recommending add-on processes and integrations
- Define repeatable methodologies, tools, and templates for future projects
- Establish engagement budgets and manage engagement economics
- Oversee onboarding of new FaaS clients, write SOWs, and contribute to proposals
- Participate in client meetings and support billings and collections of invoices
- Bachelor degree (minimum)
- CPA required or in-process
- Experience in property-level accounting and finance functions
- Experience with property managers to resolve issues and explain variances
- Expertise with Real Estate technology systems (e.g., Yardi, MRI)
- Public accounting or professional services background preferred
- Progressive real estate accounting/finance experience (manager/controller level)
- Experience in real estate development projects, construction accounting, including job costing and draw packages
- Strong GAAP, NCREIF, FMV knowledge; solid management accounting/operational finance knowledge
- Excellent communication across all organizational levels
- Experience in FP&A (modeling, budgeting, forecasting, analysis)
