A well-established Accounting Firm in Somerset West is seeking a newly qualified SAIPA Accountant to join its team. This opportunity is suited to a recently qualified Professional Accountant who is ready to apply their practical training and take on greater responsibility within a professional accounting environment. The successful candidate will work with a variety of client portfolios and gain continued exposure to accounting, financial reporting and tax-related functions.
KeyPerformance Areas:
- Manage day-to-day accounting functions for a portfolio of clients
- Prepare and review monthly management accounts
- Prepare annual financial statements
- Perform accounting reconciliations and review financial records
- Process and review journals and other accounting transactions
- Assist with VAT, PAYE and other SARS compliance requirements
- Prepare income tax and provisional tax calculations
- Assist with client queries relating to accounting and tax matters
- Liaise with clients to obtain financial information and supporting documentation
- Review bookkeeping work and supporting schedules where required
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records
- Ensure all work complies with applicable accounting and statutory requirements
- Manage multiple client portfolios and meet relevant deadlines
- Provide support and guidance to junior team members where required
- Relevant BCom Accounting degree or equivalent qualification
- Newly qualified SAIPA / Professional Accountant
- Practical experience gained within an accounting or professional services firm
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Exposure to annual financial statements and management accounts
- Working knowledge of VAT, income tax and SARS compliance
- Strong numerical and analytical ability
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple client portfolios and deadlines
- Proficiency in relevant accounting software will be advantageous
- Ability to work independently and as part of a professional team
