Tax Manager (CPA or EA) | Bethlehem, PA | Hybrid | $120,000 to $180,000 Why Valley Tax Advisors
At most firms, the road to ownership runs through a line of senior managers and principals and a decade of waiting. Valley Tax Advisors has one principal, our founder, and he is planning who will carry the tax practice forward. The person in this seat will lead that practice, and for the right person there is a real path to future firm ownership within a few years, not a career.
You would be the tax leader clients call, not one manager among many. You would own your client relationships, lead the planning work, and shape how the practice grows, with the founder beside you through the transition.
About Valley Tax AdvisorsValley Tax Advisors has served the Lehigh Valley from Bethlehem since 2009. We handle tax preparation and planning for individuals, businesses, estates and trusts, and nonprofits, along with bookkeeping, payroll, accounting, and advisory work. Most of our clients are small and mid-sized businesses and the families who own them, and they stay because we talk with them all year, not just at filing deadlines.
Smart Ledger, our financial management service, gives business clients real-time books and keeps them tax ready.
You will manage and review individual, business, estate, trust, and nonprofit returns, and lead the planning conversations that go with them. You will be the advisor business owners call when they are buying, selling, growing, or trying to avoid a surprise at filing time. You will review and mentor the preparation team, and work directly with the founder on client service, growth, and the succession of the tax practice.
Whatwe are looking for:
- An active CPA license or Enrolled Agent credential
- Five or more years of public accounting tax experience, including review of business and individual returns
- Comfort advising business owners directly on planning, not just compliance
- Experience reviewing and developing the work of preparers
- A bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field
- The ability to work in the Bethlehem office two to three days a week
- $120,000 to $180,000, depending on experience
- A real path to future firm ownership, with the founder planning the transition
- Leadership of the tax practice, with no line of principals ahead of you
- A hybrid schedule: two to three days a week in the office depending on the season, and the firm is exploring more virtual options
- Clients who value planning, in a practice built on year-round relationships
If you are a CPA or EA who is ready to lead a tax practice and build toward owning one, we would like to hear from you.
