Outsourced Controller

In this role you act as the outsourced financial leader for a portfolio of business clients, overseeing their accounting from setup to reporting. You will prepare and interpret complex financial statements and provide strategic advisory on cash flow, budgeting, and growth. You'll guide a team, onboard net-new clients with tailored cloud workflows, and coordinate with tax and wealth management to ensure a seamless client experience.

This hybrid position combines remote flexibility with targeted in-office collaboration in Indianapolis, offering meaningful impact across clients and the firm.

• Oversee full-cycle outsourced accounting for a diverse client portfolio
• Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Serve as strategic financial partner advising on cash flow, budgeting, internal controls, and growth
• Lead and review work of accounting staff to ensure accuracy and deadlines
• Lead onboarding for new clients and implement tailored cloud accounting workflows
• Coordinate with internal tax and wealth management teams to deliver unified client experience

• Proven outsourced controller/virtual CFO or senior CAS experience within a public accounting firm
• Strong expertise in full-cycle accounting, financial statement analysis, management reporting, and month-end close
• Advanced proficiency with cloud accounting tech stacks (e.g., Quick Books Online, Sage Intacct, )
• Exceptional advisory skills with ability to explain financial concepts clearly to business owners
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid setting (remote + Indianapolis office)
