Media Specialist Aide

Job Overview: Muhlenberg South Elementary is seeking a dedicated and organized individual to serve as a Part-Time Media Center Assistant. This individual will work closely with the school’s Media Specialist to ensure the media center functions efficiently and remains a vibrant hub for student learning, literacy, research, and technology integration.

• Assist in the daily operations of the media center, including shelving books, checking materials in and out, and organizing resources.
• Support students and staff in locating, selecting, and using media center materials effectively.
• Help prepare and maintain displays, bulletin boards, and themed reading areas that promote literacy and student engagement.
• Assist with technology-related needs such as basic troubleshooting, device management, or student logins during media center visits.
• Aid the Media Specialist in planning and implementing activities that promote information literacy, digital citizenship, and research skills.
• Help maintain an organized, welcoming, and safe environment that supports a range of learning needs.
• Provide clerical support, including data entry, inventory assistance, and maintaining records of circulation and usage.

• Experience working with children or in a school setting.
• Basic computer skills and comfort with technology.
• Organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Positive attitude and willingness to support all students and staff.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
