Grant & Research Support Assistant
The Grant & Research Support Assistant will assist the Office of Grants & Sponsored Programs with data collection, research, records management, and general office support. The student will help develop and maintain grant resources that support proposal development and sponsored program activities.
Duties may include:
- Assist with developing and maintaining an institutional data repository for use in grant applications and reports.
- Compile, organize, and update institutional statistics, program information, and supporting documents.
- Conduct internet research on funding opportunities, foundations, and grant programs.
- Assist with maintaining grant opportunity, submission, and award tracking databases.
- Assist with organizing and maintaining electronic grant files and records.
- Enter data into spreadsheets, databases, and reporting tools.
- Assist with developing grant resource materials, fact sheets, and reference guides.
- Track proposal deadlines, reporting requirements, and other grant-related milestones.
- Prepare basic spreadsheets, charts, and summaries using Microsoft Office applications.
- Assist with gathering success stories, program information, and project outcomes for future grant proposals.
- Perform general administrative duties including filing, copying, scanning, and document preparation.
- Assist with special projects and perform other duties as assigned by department personnel.
- Must be dependable, organized, and able to work independently.
- Must maintain confidentiality when handling institutional, student, employee, and grant-related information.
- Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping skills required.
- Interest in research, data analysis, nonprofit organizations, public service, or grant funding is desirable but not required.
- Ability to conduct internet research and organize information from multiple sources.
- Ability to learn new software systems and databases.
- Normal office environment with occasional lifting of files or office materials up to 15 pounds.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Registered full-time SSU student
- FASFA Completed
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and follow instructions
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and social media platforms
- Follow SSU dress code policy
