What You’ll Do- Provide clerical support for civil, criminal, traffic, probation, and administrative court proceedings.
- Assist the public, attorneys, law enforcement personnel, and other court partners with questions, processes, and court-related information.
- Coordinate court schedules and prepare hearing notices, probation appointments, juror summonses, and other court documents.
- Receive and accurately process fines, fees, bonds, costs, and civil escrow payments using computerized systems.
- Work with defendants regarding financial obligations and payment arrangements, following established court procedures.
- Maintain accurate information and complete assignments using court and County technology, including CLEMIS, LEIN, cash register systems, and other department-specific software.
- Assist with reports, special projects, and other administrative responsibilities that support efficient court operations.
Make an impact every day by helping the public navigate important court processes and services. Build valuable court experience while gaining exposure to multiple areas of the judicial system. Stay engaged with a variety of responsibilities, from customer service and scheduling to document preparation and payment processing. Work collaboratively with judges, prosecutors, attorneys, law enforcement, probation staff, and other court professionals.
Develop specialized skills in court procedures, legal documentation, technology, and public service.
Under the Merit System Resolution, Section II, adopted November 8, 1966, employees in this class are excluded from the Merit System for the purpose of the manner of selection, appointment, removal from office or limitation or political activity.

The Desirable Qualifications for this classification, when provided to the Human Resources Department will be stated on a separate page. These Desirable Qualifications may be subject to revision by the District Court Administrator and/or Chief District Court Judge.

Job performance, knowledge, ability and/or previous experience may substitute for Desirable Qualifications. The District Court Administrator and/or Chief District Court Judge has the right to waive the desirable qualifications.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS- High school graduate or have a certificate of successful completion of the General Education Development Test.
- Have at least three (3) years full-time experience in a court system or comparable qualifications that meet the Court Administrator's approval.
- Have knowledge of and experience in the operations, policies, and procedures of a district court.
- Familiar with current word processing, spreadsheet, database, e-mail, and Internet software.
Employees of this class may assist in orienting, training lower clerical employees, as well as providing guidance regarding court policies, procedures and legal matters that pertain to the workload of the civil, criminal, traffic, or probation units.
