SALARY RANGE: $47,000 - $51,000

A full-time Administrative Assistant is needed to join a dedicated team supporting the Office of Affordable Housing. This position combines administrative support with direct resident-facing housing assistance work, including affirmatively marketing affordable units to eligible households. Ideal candidate must have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, strong communication skills, project management abilities, and be compassionate, enthusiastic, and a problem solver, with strong customer service skills for phone calls and walk-in clientele.
Bi-lingual preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS PERFORMED
- Assist with affordable housing applications, sales, rentals, resales, and homeowner compliance
- Qualify affordable housing sales applicants and coordinate/facilitate unit showings
- Receive, organize, and track applications, documentation, deadlines, inspections, and approvals
- Maintain accurate electronic and physical files, databases, spreadsheets, and unit inventories
- Respond to telephone calls, emails, correspondence, and walk-in inquiries
- Prepare correspondence, forms, reports, notices, mailings, and other program documents
- Process and track purchase orders, invoices, payment requests, and vendor documentation
- Assist with the Princeton Home Improvement Program applications, inspections, and payments
- Coordinate appointments, meetings, inspections, and housing-related events and workshops
- Assist with affordable housing outreach, program communications, and community events
- Provide housing navigation and connect residents to housing resources and other supportive services
- Maintain confidentiality and provide professional customer service
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES
- Experience engaging with diverse and sensitive populations
- Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are strongly preferred
- Office Suite (MS suite of options – PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
- Strong organizational, project management, and time management skills and experience
- Proactive self-starter with integrity, a strong work ethic, and sound judgment
- A positive attitude and commitment to working as a team player in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Must satisfy employer paid physical, drug screen and criminal background check
- NJ residency required by N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70)
