We are looking for a dynamic Senior Editor and Administrative Analyst to join our team! The Senior Editor and Administrative Analyst will provide senior-level editorial and administrative support to the Office of the Under Secretary of War for Personnel and Readiness (OUSW P&R) Executive Secretariat (Exec Sec), serving as the team's senior authority for the quality, accuracy, and Department of War (DoW) compliance of correspondence and staff action packages prepared for senior DoW leadership, including Sec War, Dep Sec War , and OUSW(P&R) Principals.
This position is located in Arlington, VA (Pentagon).
Responsibilities- Serving as the senior editorial authority for the review, quality control, and final release of correspondence and staff action packages in support of the OUSW(P&R) Executive Secretariat (Exec Sec), directorates, and leadership
- Reviewing, editing, and routing a high volume of CATMS staff action packages weekly (typically 15–20+), including packages prepared for Sec War, Dep Sec War , and OUSW(P&R) Principal-level review, ensuring strict conformance with the DoW Manual for Written Materials and applicable style and formatting standards
- Applying advanced critical thinking and editorial judgment to review, write, rewrite, edit, and proofread correspondence and staff action packages, including short-turn deliverables to senior DoW leadership
- Leading and mentoring junior analysts and editors in the preparation of correspondence and staff action packages, providing final quality review and sign-off prior to submission to Government staff
- Reviewing SIPR (classified) packages for OUSW(P&R) equities, identifying items requiring further OUSW(P&R) action, and routing accordingly
- Maintaining a daily package log and the master tracking system of document status, ensuring accuracy and timely status reporting to leadership
- Supporting Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requirements, including maintaining current FOIA/redaction training and preparing responsive records for release
- Closing out a high volume of Congressional inquiries (30+ weekly) within assigned suspense times, ensuring accurate, senior-level responses
- Closing out White House (WH) Bulk Taskers (5–10+ weekly) within assigned suspense times
- Directing change management and communication efforts for a wide range of executive services supporting the Exec Sec correspondence and tasker portfolio
- Serving as a principal point of contact with OUSW(P&R) and Washington Headquarters Service (WHS) offices to coordinate correspondence and tasker requirements and resolve issues as they arise
