- Leukemia provides advanced administrative and secretarial support that helps ensure efficient coordination of departmental activities and resources.

At UT MD Anderson, the Senior Administrative Assistant
- Leukemia serves as a key operational partner for department leadership, faculty, staff, trainees, and patients. This position contributes to administrative excellence, supports strategic initiatives, and helps maintain effective communication, financial oversight, and program coordination across the department.

The ideal candidate has strong administrative and organizational experience, excellent written communication skills, and the ability to manage complex projects, budgets, and departmental activities. Preferred qualifications include an Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree, while candidates meeting the required education and experience combinations are also encouraged to apply.

Salary Range (Hourly Equivalent):
Minimum $21.88 | Midpoint $27.40 | Maximum $32.93.

Responsibilities Administrative Support
  • Perform complex administrative and secretarial duties in support of department operations
  • Compose formal and informal correspondence for faculty, leadership, and departmental needs
  • Create, edit, and format presentations and professional documents
  • Interpret institutional policies and procedures for employees
  • Coordinate and maintain departmental administrative activities and priorities
Human Resources & Program Coordination
  • Coordinate human resources activities for the department
  • Coordinate and maintain trainee, fellowship, observer, and visitor programs
  • Support onboarding, program administration, and participant scheduling
  • Serve as a resource regarding departmental processes and institutional requirements
Financial & Operational Management
  • Monitor and balance departmental budget activity
  • Manage departmental purchasing activities
  • Establish and maintain budget control systems to monitor expenditures
  • Coordinate maintenance of physical plant operations, physical inventory, and space planning activities
Research, Grants & Strategic Projects
  • Ensure timely submission of required reports and documentation related to manuscripts and grants
