Part-Time, Non-Exempt employees are eligible for but not limited to the following:

• Sick leave benefit – 1 day per month, 12 sick days per year (accrual and availability begins at hire and pro-rated based on number of hours worked per week)
• Vacation benefit – 10 vacation days per year, accrued at the rate of .0385 hours for each hour worked, excluding overtime (accrual begins at hire but may not be used until the completion of six months of employment) and pro-rated for number of hours worked per week.
• Pension Plan (after one year of continuous service working at least 21 hours per week).

Position Summary

The Fort Collins Family Services Representative/Corps Administrative Assistant supports Family Services, administrative and clerical operations, the Choice Food Pantry and Clothes Closet, donation and financial processing, facilities, and community and volunteer programs of The Salvation Army Fort Collins Corps. The employee works closely with the Corps Officer, carries out routine duties within established Salvation Army policies and approved procedures, maintains accurate and confidential records, and promptly refers matters requiring supervisory direction or additional intervention.

When appropriate, the employee may coordinate with the Loveland Service Extension Center to support or refer Family Services requests that exceed available Fort Collins capacity or resources.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Some college coursework preferred.
• One to two years of experience in a social service setting preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to use standard office equipment, including phones, copiers, scanners, and related devices.
• Demonstrated professional communication, organization, prioritization, multitasking, ability to work well under pressure, adaptability, self-direction, and ability to work independently.
• Ability to work respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds and circumstances while maintaining a nonjudgmental approach, professional boundaries, and a courteous demeanor.
• Must successfully pass a criminal background check.
• Must be at least 21 years old, possess a valid Colorado driver’s license, and maintain a clean driving record.
• Must be able to drive a Salvation Army vehicle for authorized work duties and complete The Salvation Army’s Fleet Safety e-learning module.

Continued employment will be contingent upon a biennial (every two years) background check that is processed in accordance with The Salvation Army’s policies.

Family Services

• Aid individuals and families seeking food, rental, utility, propane, clothing, emergency, and other available services in accordance with established policies and available resources.
• Schedule appointments, assist walk-ins and telephone/remote requests, review documentation, explain procedures, provide referrals, and maintain appropriate professional boundaries and confidentiality.
• Assess client needs and situations and promptly refer matters requiring supervisory direction or additional intervention to the Corps Officer.
