The South Asian American Justice Collaborative (SAAJCO) is a national civil rights organization advancing the civil and human rights of South Asian communities in the United States through legal advocacy, community engagement, and narrative power.
Position SummarySAAJCO seeks a reliable and highly organized Part-Time Administrative Coordinator to support the Executive Director and help manage the organization’s recurring administrative needs.
This is a hands-on role for someone who can independently manage routine responsibilities, track deadlines and follow-up items, and maintain organized systems. The position is approximately 15-18 hours per week, with the potential for hours to increase as the organizational needs and funding allow.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor SAAJCO’s mail and ensure time-sensitive items are routed and addressed.
- Maintain electronic files and track administrative deadlines, renewals, payments, and follow-up items.
- Support routine HR and bookkeeping administration by coordinating records and documentation with SAAJCO’s professional employer organization and bookkeeper.
- Support board meetings, held approximately every other month, by compiling materials, organizing meeting notes and records, and tracking follow-up items.
- Support donor administration and periodic fundraising campaigns, including maintaining donor records, preparing outreach lists, coordinating acknowledgments, and assisting with campaign logistics.
- Prepare and format routine organizational materials.
- Provide other related administrative support within the scope of the role.
The ideal candidate will have:
- At least two years of experience in an administrative, nonprofit, office management, executive support, or similar role.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and anticipate routine administrative needs.
- Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential information.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace; familiarity with Asana, CRM, bookkeeping, or HR platforms is helpful.
- Commitment to SAAJCO’s mission and values.
- Ability to establish and maintain clear administrative systems, trackers, and recurring workflows.
Experience working with a small nonprofit or supporting a senior organizational leader is preferred but not required.
Schedule:
This is a part-time position of approximately 15–18 hours per week, spread across four to five weekdays. The specific schedule can be arranged with the selected candidate and any upcoming task/projects.

Salary: $25 per hour
Start Date: Immediately
Regular availability during agreed-upon Pacific time business hours is required. Candidates based in the Pacific time zone are preferred but not required.
