Position Summary

Ingram Micro is seeking a Continuous Improvement Specialist to support its high‑volume Reverse Logistics and consumer electronics repair operation in Hebron, KY. This is a senior, engineering‑focused individual contributor role responsible for improving repair yield, reducing repeat returns and concessions (BER/bounce), and optimizing end‑to‑end repair process performance
—without negatively impacting throughput or introducing unnecessary cost.

The role operates through cross‑functional influence rather than direct operational authority and is accountable for two core outcome areas:

  • Quality & Yield Ownership – facility‑wide accountability for repair quality performance.
  • End‑to‑End Process Flow Optimization – ownership of repair process flow from receipt through final disposition.

A critical dimension of the role is designing and governing site‑level change management
, ensuring improvements are data‑driven, measurable, scalable, and permanently embedded into operations.

Key Responsibilities
Quality & Yield Outcomes
  • Own and govern site‑level quality KPIs, including repair yield, repeat returns, BER/bounce, and cost of non‑quality
    .

  • Establish performance targets, monitor trends, and lead structured corrective action using engineering and statistical methods.

  • Apply Lean, Six Sigma, PDCA, and root cause analysis techniques to identify and eliminate sources of quality loss.

  • Design and maintain closed‑loop feedback mechanisms linking defect data, audits, and return trends to process and training improvements.

  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, Training, and Quality leaders to develop SOPs, control plans, and standard work that embed quality into daily execution.

  • Serve as the quality interface for OEM and client stakeholders
, translating external requirements into practical, compliant operational standard.

End‑to‑End Process Flow Optimization
  • Map and analyze end‑to‑end repair and refurbishment processes
, identifying variation, waste, and constraints.

  • Lead cycle‑time and flow‑efficiency improvements using value stream mapping, time studies, Pareto analysis, and capability modeling.

  • Protect SLA performance through robust process controls, escalation triggers, and performance dashboards.

  • Collaborate with Engineering, IT, and Operations on system, layout, tooling, and method changes to improve throughput and scalability.

  • Develop and maintain capacity and scenario models aligned to forecasted demand without unnecessary cost or labor escalation.

Change Management & Continuous Improvement Governance
  • Design and maintain a site‑level change management framework
, including idea intake, governance, pilot structure, success metrics, and rollback controls.

  • Lead improvement initiatives from problem definition through implementation and sustainment
    , with clearly measured outcomes.

  • Balance tactical Kaizen activity with longer‑term, strategic process transformation.

  • Maintain a prioritized CI portfolio aligned to site, customer, and enterprise objectives.

  • Coach leaders and teams in continuous improvement mindsets, data‑based decision making, and change adoption
    .

Training, Capability & Compliance Enablement
  • Ensure employees and temporary labor are trained and proficient in new or updated processes prior to deployment.

  • Support development of training materials, certifications, and competency frameworks aligned to quality and process requirements.

Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Influence outcomes without direct authority through strong cross‑functional relationships.

  • Present data‑driven insights, business cases, and progress updates to site leadership and client stakeholders.

  • Champion a fact‑based, people‑centered continuous improvement culture focused on prevention and sustainability.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Business
, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).

  • 5+ years of experience in continuous improvement, engineering, quality, or operations roles within high‑volume manufacturing, repair, or reverse logistics environments.

  • Demonstrated success improving repair yield, defect rates, and repeat return performance using structured problem‑solving.

  • Strong working…
