Responsibilities

Responsible for overseeing the proper handling of inventory control for the Food Safety Distribution Department.

  • Lead a team of cycle counters and guide them in their daily job duties.
  • Ensure all users are properly trained in inventory databases and inventory control procedures.
  • Coordinate with leadership and peers to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Ensure Lot# and expiration sensitive inventory is processed first in first out and bring awareness to proper channels when product is nearing expiration.
  • Conduct regularly scheduled and unscheduled cycle counts; report findings and discrepancies to Inventory Control Manager.
  • Create ad hoc inquiries to extract inventory information for relevant departments and personnel.
  • Communicate with supply chain, logistics, sales and marketing on product supply.
  • Determine potential shortages and proactively work to remedy problems.
  • Communicate with sales and marketing about the analysis of slow moving products.
  • Report and adjust any inventory discrepancies found.
  • Perform regular reporting and review with management.
  • Actively participate in physical inventory; conduct physical inventories of raw materials, products, and supplies.
  • Analyze transfer logs and obsolete inventory.
  • Participate in cost reduction strategy meetings.
  • Work with cost accountant to resolve any inventory discrepancies.
  • Investigate and resolve short shipment complaints.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
Education & Experience

1-3 years of related inventory control experience; proficiency in Microsoft Excel; leadership experience preferred.

Working at heights required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Temperature of working area is not uniform so may be required to operate in temperatures around 35 degrees
