POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director of Learning & Performance develops and executes the enterprise learning and capability strategy for Property Operations. This position leads learning and leadership development, knowledge management, organizational readiness, and performance support initiatives that prepare employees and leaders to successfully implement business priorities and operational changes.

The Director partners with Operations Projects, Centralized Services, Human Resources, Information Technology, and business leaders to strengthen workforce capabilities, improve operational performance and consistency, and enhance the resident and employee experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develops and executes the long-term learning and capability strategy for Property Operations in alignment with organizational priorities, business growth, and transformation initiatives.
  • Evaluates workforce capability needs and establishes learning roadmaps, competency-based development paths, and succession strategies that prepare employees and leaders for continued growth.
  • Designs and oversees leadership development programs for Community Managers, Regional Managers, Maintenance leaders, and emerging leaders.
  • Leads organizational readiness and adoption strategies for operational initiatives, technology implementations, acquisitions, centralized services, policy changes, process improvements, and digital transformation efforts.
  • Partners with Operations Projects, Centralized Services, Human Resources, Information Technology, and business leaders to integrate learning and performance support into project planning and implementation.
  • Oversees the design, development, delivery, and continuous improvement of instructor-led, virtual, blended, digital, and self-paced learning programs.
  • Establishes property management operations knowledge management practices that provide employees with access to current, accurate, and scalable standard operating procedures, job aids, playbooks, digital learning assets, and operational documentation.
  • Analyzes learner feedback, operational performance data, and business metrics to identify capability gaps, evaluate training effectiveness, and recommend targeted learning and reinforcement strategies.
  • Develops measures that demonstrate the impact of learning initiatives on employee performance, operational consistency, compliance, adoption, and the resident experience.
  • Evaluates learning technologies, digital knowledge platforms, automation tools, and AI-enabled performance solutions to improve learner engagement, scalability, and operational effectiveness.
  • Establishes individual and departmental performance expectations while fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Partners with others on special projects and other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Training and Experience.)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum seven (7) years of progressive experience leading enterprise learning, organizational development, leadership development, or operations training.
  • Experience supporting multi-site operations, preferably within property management, multifamily housing, or a related industry.
