Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Research and Grant Strategy Manager provides strategic leadership for the College's research, scholarship, and external funding operations, with the Center for Nursing Innovation serving as the central hub for advancing and supporting this work. The Manager develops the infrastructure and processes needed to expand faculty and student research pathways, strengthen scholarly productivity, and support funding opportunities aligned with the college’s strategic priorities.
This role leads grant development and submission and post-award oversight, compliance, reporting and performance tracking. This role also builds internal capacity by guiding faculty and staff in research processes, funding development, implementation, dissemination, and best practices.
Primary position responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a multi-year strategy for research, scholarship, and external funding across the College of Nursing, using the Center for Nursing Innovation as the central hub for cultivating faculty and student research pathways, advancing scholarly and innovation initiatives, identifying grant opportunities, and supporting funded project development; maintain a comprehensive calendar of funding opportunities, Final date to receive applicationss, renewals, reporting timelines, and submission requirements.
- Lead the development and submission of persuasive, data-driven, and mission-aligned grant proposals, working collaboratively with program and finance teams to gather necessary content, metrics, and budgets; tailor each proposal to the expectations and priorities of individual funders; and ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance across all submitted materials.
- Monitor awarded grants to ensure compliance with funder guidelines, budget constraints, scope of services, and reporting timelines; manage the development and submission of timely and accurate grant reports in coordination with program and finance leads; maintain clear documentation and accurate grant records, including performance metrics, correspondence, and expenditure tracking; and participate in site visits, audits, and funder meetings.
- Manage scholarship cohort outcomes and maintain accurate records of recipient progress, eligibility, and outcomes; produce reports and communications for the Office of Development and other stakeholders in support of donor stewardship and fundraising strategy; support alignment between scholarship program data and institutional advancement priorities.
- Conduct applied research related to scholarship cohorts, student affordability, and nursing student outcomes; develop and maintain data sets supporting program evaluation; produce reports and analyses for internal leadership and external stakeholders as needed.
- Provide guidance and training to internal teams involved in grant preparation or implementation, and promote a culture of continuous learning and grant-related best practices across departments.
