ERM is seeking a Managing Technical Consultant, Due Diligence (
Mergers & Acquisitions) to join our growing team across the United States. In this strategic role, you will advise infrastructure investors, private equity firms, investment banks, financial institutions, and energy companies on critical investment decisions, helping them identify risks, uncover opportunities, and make informed choices. Working alongside ERM Partners and technical specialists across the globe, you'll play a key role in expanding our Technical Due Diligence offering while delivering meaningful value to clients navigating complex transactions.

Due to increasing demand for our Transaction Advisory Services, we are expanding our Technical Due Diligence team and seeking a leader who can combine technical excellence, commercial insight, and strong client relationships to drive growth and successful project delivery.

Technical Due Diligence is a critical component of investment and transaction decision-making. Organizations rely on expert technical insight to understand the operational performance, asset integrity, business plans, and technical risks associated with infrastructure and energy assets.

As a Managing Consultant, you will help clients evaluate opportunities and make confident investment decisions while contributing to the growth and evolution of ERM's global Transaction Services practice. Your expertise will directly influence major infrastructure, energy, and investment projects around the world.

What Your Impact Is

In this role, you will:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients evaluating infrastructure and energy investments.
  • Deliver technical, operational, and business plan assessments that support buy-side, sell-side, and project financing transactions.
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with infrastructure funds, private equity firms, investment banks, financial institutions, and energy companies.
  • Drive business growth by identifying opportunities and contributing to new business development initiatives.
  • Collaborate across ERM's global network of technical experts and practice communities.
  • Mentor and develop consulting teams, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Help expand ERM's market presence and reputation within the Technical Due Diligence and Transaction Advisory Services marketplace.
What You'll Bring Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in technical consulting, engineering, or operational experience during your career within the energy and/or infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong technical skills and the ability to identify risks and opportunities within technical documentation, site visits, and technical discussions relating to asset integrity, operational performance, management systems, and business plans.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, self-motivation, self-sufficiency, and the ability to work successfully in a fast-turnaround team environment.
  • Ability to promote and execute quality work while ensuring high standards are achieved by both individual and team performance.
  • Advanced report writing and presentation skills.
  • Driver's License

    Required:

    This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area.
  • This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.
Preferred
  • Experience managing external client projects.
  • Ability to manage or assist with complex project delivery involving multiple work streams and integrated client deliverables.
  • Previous experience in Technical Due Diligence.
  • Corporate finance qualification.
  • Interest in domestic and overseas travel to perform site visits when required.
  • Knowledge of renewable energy, including Solar and Storage.
