Skills and Competencies
  • 5–9 years of experience analyzing U.S. public policy, regulatory, and legal developments and their business impact within a financial services company, regulator, government body, financial technology provider, or similar organization
  • Strong understanding of U.S. government institutions, regulatory processes, and policy making dynamics, with a demonstrated track record of regulatory and public policy analysis, strategy development, and stakeholder engagement
  • Prior experience at a U.S. financial regulatory agency or other government body with responsibility for financial services policy or regulation is preferred
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex regulatory and policy issues clearly and effectively to senior leadership and diverse stakeholder groups
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to build relationships and drive execution across functions, business lines, and geographies
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders simultaneously
  • Demonstrated proficiency in artificial intelligence concepts, with hands‑on experience using AI tools to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency. Proven ability to implement AI‑powered solutions to solve business challenges. Demonstrates a growing awareness of AI risk management and a commitment to responsible and ethical AI use.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in legal studies, finance, economics, political science, public policy, communications, international relations, or a related discipline required
Responsibilities

The AVP plays a key role in guiding U.S. regulatory analysis, advancing external stakeholder engagement, and supporting Moody's Government, Public and Regulatory Affairs strategy. Specific responsibilities may include:

  • Guiding analysts in tracking and analyzing regulatory and policy developments, preparing briefings and policy updates relevant to Moody's business, including those related to credit rating agencies, capital markets, private credit, insurance regulation, risk assessment tools, financial crime compliance, trade policy, and geopolitical issues
  • Preparing and presenting clear, well-structured verbal and written briefings and position papers on regulatory developments for senior leadership and business stakeholders
  • Assessing the business implications of proposed and adopted regulation, translating complex legal and regulatory texts into actionable analysis
