Reporting to the Senior Manager, Special Events, Partnerships & Councils, and under the general supervision of the Director of Development, this position supports the renewal process, events, and benefit fulfillment for Dia’s council program (giving levels ranging from $5,000-$50,000+), and is responsible for the administration and promotion of Dia’s general membership program (giving levels ranging from $80-$1,100) with a focus on special projects and events.
Together with the Membership and Development Operations Associate, this position coordinates Dia’s established membership program as well as supports the cultivation of the donor pipeline between member and council level supporters. This position also provides assistance with events and special projects across the department.
- Working closely with the Senior Manager, Special Events, Partnerships & Councils, this role provides logistical, production, and other support for Council program events, trips, and benefits fulfillment as assigned
- Assists with gift tracking and maintaining renewal and solicitation calendars for Dia’s upper level giving groups and annual supporters - Art Council ($5,000), Curator’s Council ($10,000), Dia Women ($10,000) Leadership Council ($25,000), and Director’s Council ($50,000)
- Provides production and logistical support for Council events and programming, including the annual Dia Women convening, travel program, and special visits and tours
- Collaborating with the Publications and Marketing departments, position helps manage Council program ephemera, including brochures, events calendars, digital invitations, and membership cards
- Assists with tracking and communication for the Development department’s VIP reservations at The Lightning Field
- Working with the Development team, track Council prospects and produce research as needed
- Assist with other special Development events (Fall Gala, Spring Benefit, VIP donor events) as assigned. Assistance at off-site events required
- Support sustained engagement and promotion strategies focused on retention, acquisition, and participation across Dia’s membership program. Responsibilities include executing Dia’s member benefits and calendar of events, meeting membership goals and benchmarks, and monitoring revenue and benefits utilization
- Collaborate with Marketing department and Shop to develop promotions, campaigns, digital and printed materials, and other ongoing member outreach
- In collaboration with Membership and Development Operations Associate, manage production and logistics for member events and programming. Including tours, Member openings, annual events, and Fellow Member event
- Work with Visitor Experience leadership and on-site staff to maintain on-site membership experience and in-person membership sales. This will involve occasional travel to Dia sites in New York State as well as supporting membership training and sales incentives for frontline staff as needed
- Build relationships with membership and cultivation staff at peer institutions, focusing on New York City, to research and explore co-programming and other promotions
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
- 2 years of practical related experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must have strong administrative support skills and be organized and detail-oriented
- Accurate data entry skills; experience with Altru or a similar database is preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong research skills and ability to consolidate information in a logical and functional format
