Lift Attendant

Reports To: Lift Operations Supervisor / Mountain Operations Manager

Location: Swain Resort – Swain, NY

Status: Seasonal / Full-Time / Part-Time (depending on needs)

Pay Rate Range: $16.50

Position Summary

The Lift Attendant at Swain Resort is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the resort’s chairlifts and surface lifts. Lift Attendants play a key role in ensuring guest safety, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a fun and welcoming atmosphere for all visitors on the mountain.

• Operate chairlifts and surface lifts safely and efficiently according to resort procedures.
• Greet guests in a friendly, professional manner and provide assistance as needed when loading or unloading.
• Monitor lift areas for safety, ensuring ramps are properly maintained and clear of hazards.
• Perform regular lift inspections and report any issues or maintenance needs to the Lift Operations Supervisor.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of lift shacks and surrounding areas.
• Monitor weather and snow conditions that may impact lift operations.
• Communicate effectively with other lift operators, patrol, and Mountain Operations staff.
• Assist with crowd control and line management during busy periods.
• Uphold all resort safety standards and policies at all times.
• Provide guests with general resort information and assist in creating a positive mountain experience.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including cold, snow, and wind.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to remain alert and focused while performing repetitive tasks.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for long periods.
• Reliable, punctual, and safety-minded.
• Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and during peak resort periods.
• Previous lift operations or outdoor recreation experience a plus, but not required.
