CFGI is seeking a Manager to support and lead private equity value creation initiatives, portfolio company performance improvement programs, and strategic internal initiatives.
This role will focus on leading work streams, managing day-to-day program execution, coordinating initiative governance, and delivering financial and operational analyses that support measurable business outcomes. The Manager will work closely with CFGI leadership, client stakeholders, and initiative owners to translate strategic objectives into actionable plans, track value capture, surface risks, and ensure high-quality execution across initiatives.
What you might expect:- Manage value creation and operational improvement work streams across private equity clients and portfolio companies.
- Support development and implementation of value creation playbooks, operational improvement frameworks, and financial performance frameworks.
- Lead initiative tracking, milestone management, workplans, risk logs, and performance reporting.
- Coordinate day-to-day activities across initiative owners, business leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Conduct and review financial, operational, market, and business performance analyses.
- Identify and assess opportunities related to cost reduction, margin improvement, revenue growth, working capital, and broader operational performance.
- Track realized versus projected savings, EBITDA impact, and benefits realization across initiatives.
- Review financial reconciliations, variance analyses, business cases, and opportunity-sizing analyses.
- Develop and review executive dashboards, scorecards, status reports, and board-ready presentations.
- Support executive operating reviews, steering committee meetings, and leadership updates.
- Manage project timelines, deliverables, risks, dependencies, and issue resolution across assigned work streams.
- Mentor Consultants and review analyses and deliverables for accuracy, quality, and consistency.
- Support proposal development, client workshops, business development activities, and internal capability building.
- Support strategic initiatives and special projects across the organization.
- 3-6 years of experience in management consulting, value creation, transaction advisory, strategic finance, FP&A, corporate strategy, business transformation, operations, program management, operational finance, or operational improvement.
- Experience leading work streams or initiatives involving value creation, operational improvement, financial performance, business transformation, or related consulting engagements.
- Experience leading project work streams, managing project timelines and deliverables, and supervising Consultants or cross-functional teams.
- Experience developing financial models, business cases, variance analyses, or value capture analyses related to cost reduction, margin improvement, revenue growth, working capital, or EBITDA enhancement.
- Experience establishing governance processes, initiative tracking, KPI reporting, risk management, or benefits realization processes.
- Experience facilitating client or executive meetings, presenting recommendations, and serving as a day-to-day point of contact for stakeholders.
- Experience at an MBB firm (McKinsey, Bain, BCG), Big 4 firm, transaction advisory practice, corporate strategy team, or other consulting or professional services environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Analytics, or a related field.
- Experience working with private equity funds or portfolio companies.
- Experience supporting operational improvement, cost optimization, performance management, or EBITDA enhancement programs.
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, Smartsheet, , Anaplan, Adaptive, or similar tools.
- CPA, CFA, PMP, MBA, or other relevant professional credential.
- Strong analytical and structured problem solvers who can translate complex business issues into actionable plans.
- Highly organized professionals who can manage multiple work streams, stakeholders, deadlines, risks, and dependencies.
- Effective communicators who can build relationships across client and internal teams and clearly present analyses and recommendations.
- Hands-on leaders who enjoy developing junior team members while remaining actively involved in project execution.
