Overview
The Y serves thousands of families a year by providing safe, fun, and engaging after-school programs for their children. When regular staff need time off, substitutes step in and keep the magic going for the kids. As a substitute you'll help to ensure a positive atmosphere with homework enrichment, physical activity, healthy snacks, group activities and positive relationships.

Schedule: Flexible weekday morning and/or afternoon shifts (you choose what works for you)
Pay: Starting at $15.50/hour (increases based on experience & education)

- Keep kids safe, engaged, and having a great time
- Help with homework, games, crafts, sports, and snack time

Who We’re Looking For
You don't need years of experience — we're looking for reliable, caring people who enjoy working with kids. This is a great role for college students, parents, retirees, or anyone looking for flexible part-time work.
- Minimum age of 18 (high school diploma/GED required in KS)
- Previous experience working with school-age children is a plus (babysitting, nannying, camp, childcare programs, etc.)
- Works effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions and perceptions
- Able to actively engage with and supervise children in a range of indoor and outdoor activities — this is an on-your-feet role that takes energy and alertness
- A genuine interest in helping kids learn, play, and grow
