Director:
Willow Grove Childcare and Learning Center
Job Summary:
Coordinate, budget, manage the daily successful operation of the Willow Grove Child Care Learning Center and supervise employees at the center following the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) guidelines.
Required Qualifications:
- Three years of experience as a classroom teacher of young children
- At least 21 years of age
- Minimum of Associate’s Degree in Child Development/Early Childhood Education OR Sixty-four (64) semester hours of credit from an accredited college or university
* 21 of these 64 semester hours must be in child development, early childhood education or early childhood special education. - Gateways to Opportunity Level I Illinois Director Credential OR 3 semester hours of college credit in administration,leadershipor management.
- Active Food Manager Certificate(or obtained prior to hire)
- Completion of Lead Safety Training, including mitigation plan strategies and impact of lead exposure.
- Active CPR certification for pediatric ages(or obtained within two weeksofhire).
Location:Willow Grove Childcare and Learning Center (Carthage, IL)
Status:Full Time
Wage Range: $55,000-$65,000/year

Primary
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain,at all times,high qualitychildcarestandards based on developmentally appropriate practices.
- Supervise all staff members of the Willow Grove Childcare and Learning Center, including substitute staff.
- Oversee hiring process and orientation for allnew staff.
- Provideaccurateand meaningful annual performance evaluations for all Willow Grove Child Care and Learning Center staff.
- Develop a budget for the center andestablishcontrols toassurethat the center adheres to the budget.
- Ensure that the program is costeffectiveand funds are managed prudently.
- Oversee the day-to-day functions of the Willow Grove Child Careand Learning Center and manage staff.
- Develop,implement and update policies and procedures for the operation of the Willow Grove Child Careand Learning Center .
- Assure consistent compliance with all Illinois DCFS rules and regulations, including maintenance of annual fire,healthand other inspections.
- Coordinate the annual licensing of the Willow Grove Child Careand Learning Center with DCFS.
- Oversee the maintenance of files according to DCFS requirements.
- Maintain open,consistent and effective communication with parents, providing parent education training,assistance and support as needed.
- Provide reliable,accurateandtimelyinformation about the Willow Grove Child Careand Learning Center to interested parties.
- Attain andmaintainmembership in Gateways to Opportunity Registry and maintain records ofstaff.
- Set up,ensuremaintainrecords of Willow Grove Child Careand Learning Center staff meeting annualinservicerequirements of 15 hours per year.
- Follow all rules, regulations, and policies of Memorial Hospital and Hancock County Senior Services and follow directives from supervisors.
- Follow attendance policy as assigned by supervisor.
- Perform other functions that may be assigned by the Administration.
- Attend professional development seminars tomaintainan understanding of the current best practices of curriculum and administrative functions of child development programs.
- Oversee the training and professional development of all Willow Grove Child Careand Learning Center staff.
- Articulate the center’s mission to employees and other stakeholders andsolicitsupport in realizing the mission.
- Useappropriateand effective techniques to encourage community and parent involvement.
- Represent the center in a professional,courteous,and positive manner at all times.
