Teacher, Child Development​/Support

The Goddard School in Albany is currently hiring loving, nurturing teachers for our school. We have children ages 6 weeks old through 5 years old. We are looking for teachers who enjoy being around children and encourage children to learn and grow. Our teachers are committed to our children and work as a team to provide the best possible care for our families.

• Establish and maintain a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment
• Create and implement fun and engaging plans with the guidance of the Program Coordinator
• Support each child’s social and emotional development and provide positive guidance
• Establish an effective classroom, responsive to each child’s needs
• Adhere to all NYS regulations and Goddard School policies and procedures

• Ability to understand and support the education program using a “learning through play” philosophy
• Ability to interact closely with children at their level
• Ability to keep children within sight and sound supervision at all times
• Ability to change children’s diapers and/or assist in toileting (where necessary)
• Associate degree or higher in Early Childhood, Child Development or related field preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work as part of a team and take directions
• Ability to multi-task
• Candidate must be flexible and able to respond to change as needed
• Candidate must be passionate about working with children and bring a positive attitude each and every day!

$17.00 - $25.00 per hour
