Senior Construction Administrator – Louisville, KY

This full‑time, in‑office role will manage project specifications, oversee contract and construction documents, and support the engineering team in Louisville, KY.

Position Overview

CMTA is an engineering firm focused on sustainable building projects. The Senior Construction Administrator will ensure project compliance, facilitate construction documentation, conduct site inspections, and guide design staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with project contract language, current code requirements, and manufacturer information.
  • Assist with construction administration document processing activities, including shop drawings, RFIs, change orders, pay applications, and closeout documents.
  • Perform preliminary reviews of submittals and incorporate comments from the design team in final responses.
  • Prepare preliminary answers for RFIs and incorporate design team comments in the final responses.
  • Conduct onsite construction inspections to ensure projects are constructed in accordance with contract documents and resolve conflicts. 2‑3 days a week of site visits are anticipated.
  • Prepare field observation reports.
  • Maintain and update electronic construction plan sets working with the design team.
  • Assist with maintaining project schedules and logs.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with internal staff and external clients regarding project inquiries or procedures/requirements.
  • Mentor and train design staff based on constructability feedback and lessons learned from field observations and construction administration processes.
  • Coordinate completion of closeout documents.
Desired Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience as a design engineer, construction administration professional, or skilled tradesperson.
  • Proficiency with Adobe/Bluebeam, Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Proficiency with Electronic Document Management Systems such as Newforma or Procore.
  • Demonstrated capability in coordinating with multiple design team members to manage construction‑related correspondence.
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to listen and understand internal customer expectations.
  • Ability to manage schedules to meet critical deadlines.
