* Summary:

** Position Summary  The Climate Resilience Advisor provides technical and advisory support to strengthen climate adaptation, mitigation, and resilience across Habitat for Humanity Asia Pacific programs. The role works closely with National Organizations and regional teams tto deliver strategic guidance, technical assistance, capacity strengthening, knowledge management, advocacy and partnership development. This will include coordination with HFHI Global Program Operations, and specifically the Director-Climate Resilience (e.g., on development and implementation of the Global Climate Approach).

The Advisor will work to ensure the integration of climate considerations into housing, settlements, disaster resilience, and community development initiatives, while advancing Habitat’s climate commitments and strategic priorities.  The Advisor serves as the regional focal point for climate action, including the identification of climate risks, and mitigate reduced climate risk, strengthened resilience, reduced vulnerability, support fundraising in coordination from Resource Development Department and more sustainable development outcomes across Asia Pacific region.

**** Key Result Areas and Responsibilities
**** 1. Strategic Advisory, Alignment and Stakeholder Engagement (30%)
**** Purpose
* * Provide technical advisory and thought partnership to ensure climate resilience programming is aligned with global and regional strategies, standards, and quality frameworks, while enabling contextualized implementation across National Organizations in Asia Pacific region.
** Key Responsibilities
*** Provide strategic and technical advice to support rollout, contextualization and localization of HFHI global climate frameworks, tools, and standards within the Asia Pacific region.
* Advise on integrating climate risk considerations into program quality standards, operating frameworks, and sectoral guidelines, including housing, settlements, WASH, and livelihoods.
* Facilitate alignment and promote linkages between climate resilience programming and broader humanitarian, recovery, and development agendas.
* Serve as a technical resource and thought partner to Country Offices, supporting decision making and program direction where needed
* Engage with external stakeholders (government agencies, research institutions, NGOs, and networks) to strengthen technical positioning and partnerships opportunities around climate resilience and DRR.
* Represent HFHI and contribute technical inputs to global, regional technical forums, working groups, or coordination platforms as required.
* Support strategic partnerships and collaboration opportunities that advance Habitat's climate resilience agenda.
** 2. Capacity Building and Technical Support (25%)
**** Purpose
* * Strengthen the technical capacity of National Organizations and partners to design, implement, and scale high-quality climate resilience and risk-informed programming
** Key Responsibilities
*** Design and facilitate targeted capacity building initiatives, training programs, workshops, and coaching for Country Office staff and partners on climate resilience, DRR, and risk informed programming.
* Provide ongoing advisory support and mentorship to Country Offices to build internal technical expertise
* Develop and maintain technical resources, tools, guidance documents, and learning materials.
* Support Country Offices to build internal technical capacity through training materials,
* Facilitate peer learning, communities of practice, and regional exchanges on climate best practices.
* Promote organizational learning and the application of climate-responsive approaches across programs and operations.
** 3. Program Advisory and Technical Oversight (25%)
**** Purpose
* * Provide technical advisory support to ensure integration of climate considerations into program designs, projects, implementation and quality assurance, enabling National Organizations to scale impact.
** Key Responsibilities
*** Provide technical input and advisory support to Country Offices on climate risk analysis, mainstreaming, and resilient housing and settlements.
* Support the integration of climate resilience into program design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation across development and humanitarian contexts.
* Advise Country Offices on context specific adaptation measures, including resilient construction techniques, site selection, safer land use, and community-based approaches.
