General Laborer III
Position SummaryBlue Sage Services is seeking high-performing field professionals for the role of General Laborer III. This position represents the final stage before advancement into Equipment Operator. Laborer III employees demonstrate advanced field knowledge, leadership, technical aptitude, and consistently contribute to production goals while mentoring teammates and supporting field leadership. Individuals in this role are actively preparing for operator role through expanded equipment proficiency, grade awareness, and increased project ownership.
Key Responsibilities- Perform all Laborer I and Laborer II responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate skid steers, mini excavators, compactors, and other approved support equipment
- Assist with finish grading, layout, and production activities
- Demonstrate strong understanding of site operations, grade awareness, and project sequencing
- Coordinate daily labor activities under the direction of the Foreman
- Mentor and train Laborer I and II team members
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity and efficiency
- Maintain equipment inspections and report maintenance needs
- Serve as a role model for Blue Sage Services' safety culture
- Demonstrate leadership, accountability, and initiative
- Be capable of filling in as Crew Lead to assist the foreman in their absence
- Continue developing skills necessary for Equipment Operator promotion
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Significant heavy civil construction experience
- Proven success as a Laborer II or equivalent experience
- Proficient operation of skid steer, mini excavator, and similar equipment
- Strong understanding of grading concepts, utility installation, and field operations
- Ability to mentor and develop other employees
- Demonstrated leadership potential
- Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
- Field-based position with travel required depending on project location
- Typical schedule:
Monday–Friday with overtime as needed - Work hours may vary based on project demands and timelines
