Civil Superintendenttomanagefieldoperationsonanactiveconstructionprojectin Southern California .

Thispositionwillhaveoverallfieldresponsibilityforassignedprojects,includingmanagementofsubcontractors,coordinationbetweentrades,schedule execution,safety,quality,inspections,anddailysiteoperations.

The Superintendentwillalsodirectlymanagethe Company 'sself-performoperationsthroughtheassignedforeman.

,withconcretedemolitionrepresentingasignificantportionofthedemolitionwork.

The Superintendentisnotexpectedtoperformtheforeman'sday-to-daycrew-leadrole.

The Superintendentmustmanagethroughtheforemanbyestablishingtheworkplan,production expectations,manpowerandequipmentrequirements,andholdingtheforemanandcrewaccountableforresults.

Thesuccessfulcandidateshouldhaveastrongcivilconstructionbackgroundbutalsobecapableofmanagingtheentireprojectsite.

Thisincludessupervisingsubcontractedtradessuchasmasonry,concrete,utilities,electrical,mechanical,andotherbuildingandsitetradesdependingontheproject.

Experiencewithconcreteandsitedemolitionispreferred.

Primary Responsibilities Overall Project Field Management

Manageday-to-dayfieldoperationsforassignedproject.
Maintainoverallresponsibilityforfieldschedule,safety,quality,coordination,inspections,andsitelogistics.
SuperviseandcoordinateCALTECself-performpersonnelandprojectsubcontractors.
Coordinatemultipletradesworkingconcurrentlyontheproject.
Developandmaintainshort-termfieldschedulesandlook-ahead plans.
Identifyupcomingconstraintsandresolvethembeforetheyaffecttheprojectschedule.
Coordinatemanpower,equipment,materials,access,inspections,andinformationrequiredforupcomingwork.
Conductorparticipateinsubcontractorcoordinationmeetingsandfieldplanningmeetings.
Maintaincommunicationwiththe Project Managerregardingschedule ,manpower,cost,changes,inspections,andfieldconditions.
Coordinateworkwithowners,inspectors,design professionals,utility representatives,andotherprojectstakeholders.
Verifythatsubcontractorsareproperlystaffedandprogressingaccordingtotheprojectschedule.
Holdsubcontractorsaccountableforcontractualrequirements,schedule commitments,safety,quality,andcompletionoftheirwork.
Identify incomplete,deficient,ornonconformingworkandrequiretimelycorrection.
Coordinatesequencingbetweentradestopreventconflictsandrework.
Maintainanorganized,safe,andproductiveprojectsite.

Self-Perform Earthwork and Demolition

OnprojectswhereCALTECself-performsearthworkordemolition,the Superintendentwillhavedirectresponsibilityforplanningandmanagingthoseoperations.

The Superintenden twill:

Reviewcivilplans,gradingplans,utilityplans,geotechnicalreports,specifications,andsurveyinformation.
Developtheearthworksequenceandproductionplan.
Determinerequiredmanpower,equipment,trucking,andsupportresources.
Establishmeasurabledailyandweeklyproductiontargets.
Givetheforemanclearproductionobjectivesandworkareas.
Monitoractualproductionagainstplannedproduction.
Track excavation,import,export,backfill,andaggregatequantities.
Monitorlaborandequipmentutilization.
Identifyproductionconstraintsandadjusttheoperationasnecessary.
Coordinate survey,staking,elevations,slopes,grades,andcontrolpoints.
Coordinatesoilstestingandinspectionrequirements.
Verifyliftthickness,moistureconditioning,compaction,andtestingrequirements.
Coordinatesoilimport,export,trucking,recycling,and disposal.
