- Engineering and design management: internal and external engineering (civil, electrical, telecom), constructability, and design-to-cost.
- Procurement and contracts: long-lead equipment, EPC and contractor selection and management, and vendor performance.
- Construction management: field execution, contractor oversight, inspections, and commissioning or energization.
- Safety and compliance: a real safety culture and a clean record against permit conditions and environmental requirements, working with Governmental Relations on the conditions attached to approvals.
- Risk and reporting: schedule and cost risk, change control, and credible reporting.
An execution function that can take a project from secured corridor into construction: a delivery playbook (estimating, scheduling, contracting, safety, and commissioning standards), a qualified contractor and vendor bench, and at least one project moved into or through construction on budget and on schedule with a clean safety record.
Must-haves- 12+ years delivering large capital infrastructure projects (energy, transmission, generation, telecom / fiber, pipeline, or heavy civil), including full budget and schedule ownership.
- Led EPC or construction management on $1+ billion projects, managing contractors and long-lead procurement.
- Strong safety leadership and a real safety record you can speak to.
- Engineering or construction-management depth (PE or PMP a plus), and the judgment to reject a bad estimate or schedule.
- Willing to be where the work is.
- Linear-infrastructure construction (transmission, fiber, pipeline) and energization / commissioning experience.
- Experience standing up a delivery function from scratch, including estimating and cost-control systems.
- Familiarity with permit conditions, environmental compliance in construction, and utility interconnection.
