Civil Engineering, Site Manager, Regulatory Compliance Specialist
Weston & Sampson is seeking a Construction Inspector for oversight and inspection of utility and infrastructure projects in Suffern area of New York. The job is a great opportunity for professional development as part of a team of professional engineers.
What you'll do:- Review of contract documents and construction management requirements to identify and report degree of compliance.
- Complete SWPPP inspections and reports.
- Confirm compliance of drawings and other modifications; measure the quantities and observe quality of construction; prepare daily records of construction work; record and report problems and failures to comply with contract documents and construction management requirements.
- Review and evaluate Contractor's work schedules and updates with the Project Manager.
- The projects will require careful coordination with the client, contract administration and reporting, and coordination with engineers working in support.
- Maintain, liaison and attend regular site meetings to anticipate construction work, potential problems, progress, and other job-related conditions.
- Maintain positive relationships with municipal staff and contractors.
- Some overtime may be required, and local travel is required.
- Knowledge of Erosion Control inspections and related work.
- Experience with general construction inspection policies, procedures and administrative requirements.
- Experience working with Bluebeam, Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Word and Excel are highly preferred.
- Working knowledge and experience with interpreting contract documents, including compliance with prevailing safety regulations.
- Ability to prepare and maintain electronic (iPad/laptop) field records efficiently and accurately.
- Ability to work well with contractors, engineers, municipality, and residents.
- Excellent public relations, written and verbal communication skills and organizational/time management skills
- Valid driver's license is required.
- Receptive to sometimes working in inclement weather.
Hourly Rate: $31.00 - $38.00/hr based on experience
