Metric Geo are supporting a top-tier Heavy Civil contractor based in Kansas City. They are searching for a seasoned estimator to join their team and help in the delivering of major grading and utility projects across the region.
About the Role:You’ll take the lead on building accurate, competitive estimates, analyzing project risks, and coordinating early project planning. This is a high-impact preconstruction role for someone who enjoys fast-paced bidding and shaping winning proposals.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop detailed estimates for grading, earthwork, and utility projects
- Review plans and specs, identify scope and risks, and create bid strategies
- Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors; evaluate and compare pricing
- Build preliminary schedules and risk assessments
- Maintain organized bid documentation and cost histories
- Work closely with PMs and engineering teams to ensure smooth project handoff
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar
- 3+ years of heavy civil estimating experience
- Background in grading and wet utilities preferred
- Proficient with estimating software (Agtek/TBC, AutoCAD, HCSS Heavy Bid/Bid2
