PALA Interstate, LLCSenior Estimator Position Description
This position will be responsible for developing complete and accurate estimates, reviewing project documents, coordinating vendor and subcontractor pricing, identifying project risks, and helping lead estimates from initial review through final proposal.
The candidate will have strong industrial construction experience, be able to work independently, manage multiple estimates, and communicate clearly with estimating, operations, project management, vendors, and clients.
Responsibilities
Review drawings, specifications, bid documents, and project requirementsPrepare detailed labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and indirect cost estimatesPerform and review quantity takeoffsDevelop and issue RFQs to vendors and subcontractorsReview vendor and subcontractor proposals for scope and completenessIdentify scope gaps, project risks, constructability concerns, and schedule impactsPlan and manage assigned estimates through completionPrepare estimates for internal review and clearly explain pricing assumptions and risksAssist with proposal preparation and final bid submissionsParticipate in project turnover meetings for awarded workSupport and mentor less experienced estimators when neededUse historical information and lessons learned to improve future estimatesExpectations
Take ownership of assigned estimates and understand the complete project scopePlan work around bid deadlines and communicate concerns earlyMaintain organized and accurate estimate documentationBe prepared for estimate reviews with quantities, pricing, risks, and outstanding items clearly identifiedManage multiple estimates and priorities without requiring constant follow upWork effectively with operations and other departments to develop realistic execution plansProvide leadership and support to the estimating teamQualifications
