Position Overview

TRAC Builders is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Senior Superintendent with 10+ years of construction field leadership experience to join our team and oversee projects throughout Cape Cod and the Islands.

The Senior Superintendent is responsible for the overall on-site leadership, coordination, and supervision of construction activities from mobilization through project completion. This position plays a critical role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with contract documents, design specifications, quality standards, and TRAC Builders' expectations.

As the senior field leader on assigned projects, the Senior Superintendent will direct subcontractors and field personnel, manage site logistics and sequencing, maintain project schedules, enforce safety and quality standards, and collaborate closely with the Project Manager and broader project team. The successful candidate will demonstrate extensive knowledge of construction methods and sequencing, strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to anticipate challenges and proactively develop solutions in a fast-paced construction environment.

This position requires regular travel to project sites throughout Cape Cod and the Islands.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide overall leadership and supervision of all on-site construction activities to ensure compliance with project design, contract documents, schedule, budget, quality, and safety requirements.
  • Lead and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, field personnel, and other project participants to maintain project flow, productivity, and adherence to schedule.
  • Establish clear expectations for field operations and hold subcontractors and project personnel accountable for schedule, safety, quality, and performance.
  • Monitor and enforce all project safety procedures, including conducting regular site inspections and coordinating closely with company safety personnel.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture and ensure site operations comply with company policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Manage site logistics, including equipment, deliveries, access, material staging, temporary facilities, and overall site organization.
  • Review project drawings, specifications, submittals, and other construction documents to identify potential conflicts, constructability concerns, or challenges before they impact field operations.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage the construction schedule in coordination with the Project Manager, ensuring critical milestones and project completion dates are achieved.
  • Plan and coordinate short-term and long-term field activities to maintain efficient sequencing of work.
  • Communicate regularly with the Project Manager and project team regarding site progress, schedule, manpower, safety, quality, issues, and project needs.
  • Conduct daily and weekly site meetings with subcontractors and field staff and document activities, commitments, and outcomes.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate daily field reports, logs, progress photographs, as-built drawings, and other required project documentation.
  • Support the implementation and coordination of project changes in collaboration with the project management team.
  • Identify, communicate, and assist in resolving field issues, including unforeseen conditions, RFIs, design conflicts, sequencing challenges, and constructability concerns.
  • Proactively identify potential schedule impacts and field challenges and develop solutions to minimize disruption to project progress.
  • Monitor workmanship and ensure completed work meets or exceeds company, contract, and industry standards.
  • Coordinate inspections and ensure work is properly prepared for review by owners, design professionals, authorities having jurisdiction, and other project stakeholders.
  • Support project closeout activities, including punch list completion, inspections, commissioning coordination, and turnover.
