Project Coordinator

The Project Coordinator supports the Project Manager and the Superintendent in overall project coordination. This position will work primarily in the main office assisting with project communication and management, including general administrative functions and routine daily activities as assigned by the Project Manager and Senior Project Coordinator. This position will report directly to the Senior Project Coordinator in conjunction with the Project Manager.

Sun West Builders believes that a successful Project Coordinator must exhibit the following:

• Assist with subcontractor bid solicitation.
• Assist with the development and distribution of Work Orders and Subcontract Agreements.
• Have a thorough understanding of Subcontract Agreements, the scope of work,and project finish schedules.
• Manage contract disbursement with all subcontractors
• Help administer and maintain document control (RFI, Submittal and Meeting Minutes, etc.) and attend project meetings when required.
• Assist with approving vendor invoices.
• Assist with project Change Management.
• Help manage project closeout.

• Familiarity with construction methods and terminology.
• Display strong written and verbal communication skills and employ effective listening skills.
• Demonstrate competency in all computer programs as defined necessary by management. (Procore, Blue Beam, Excel, Word, and Outlook.)
• Utilize strong organizational skills and have the ability to multi-task.

• High School Diploma (or equivalent) required.
• 3
  -5 years of experience as a Project Coordinator supporting a Construction Project Manager.

• Self-starting, highly motivated, and goal orientated individual.
• Excellent attention to detail with an emphasis placed on quality.
• Quick, sharp, confident, and ethical.
• Enjoys working with people and is a strong team player

• In Sun West Builders experience, this position generally requires, on average, an 8-hour workday. Therefore, compensation is calculated on a 40-hour workweek. Any worktime in excess of 40 hours per week must be preapproved. Failure to obtain preapproval for work time in excess of 40 hours per week is a basis for disciplinary action. It is the expectation of Sun West Builders that each employee will satisfy the unique workday requirements for each position as necessary.
