Big-D Mission Critical is looking for an Electrical Superintendent. The Electrical Superintendent oversees all electrical construction activities for complex data center projects, ensuring the safe, high-quality installation of power distribution, medium-voltage systems, generators, UPS systems, and other critical infrastructure. This role leads electrical trade coordination, drives schedule performance, and supports commissioning efforts to deliver reliable, mission-critical facilities that meet the highest standards of uptime and operational performance.
This position can be based in Reno, NV or in a traveling role.
Experience/Training:
- Bachelor's degree or 7+ years of related experience working on Mission Critical commercial construction projects; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Duties, Responsibilities and Expectations: (other duties may be assigned to meet business needs)
- Provide direction and leadership on MEP scope(s) on data center/mission-critical projects
- Manage safety, quality, schedule, production, logistics and coordination
- Represents the company in meetings and interfaces with all project stakeholders
- Coordinates and directs all subcontractor and vendors
- Works with the project team to establish goals and develop accountability
- Assumes responsibility for productivity of crafts, efficient use of materials and equipment, and contractual performance of the project
- Verifies to ensure subcontractor completes the assigned scope of work
- Seeks to learn changes in the industry
Critical
Skills:
- Extensive experience managing electrical systems on mission-critical data center projects, including medium-voltage distribution, switch gear, generators, UPS, and backup power systems.
- Strong understanding of electrical coordination, BIM/VDC processes, and complex trade sequencing.
- Proven ability to lead electrical subcontractors, drive schedule performance, and maintain budget objectives.
- Experience supporting testing, startup, commissioning, and turnover of critical electrical infrastructure.
- In-depth knowledge of NFPA, NEC, and industry electrical safety standards.
- Strong understanding of power distribution systems, redundancy requirements, and mission-critical facility operations.
- Extensive knowledge of established construction practices, procedures, and techniques as well as applicable local, state and federal building codes.
- Familiarity with a wide range of equipment and tools and proficiency in skilled construction, and repair tasks.
- Possess strong computer skills; proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook.
- Advanced understanding of construction scheduling and sequencing, and cost control.
- Knowledge of general survey and layout practices.
- Ensure all installations meet quality and electrical code standards
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively with project team, customers, subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and employees at all levels of the organization. Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to effectively lead and manage teams.
- Thorough and attentive to details; extremely organized and able to prioritize and multitask.
- Ability to proactively plan and identify risks to meet or exceed the deadline while meeting the safety requirements, productivity goals, sustainability goals and quality.
