Aquila Corporation is looking for a dependable, safety-focused OSP Aerial Laborer to support our aerial fiber optic construction crews.

This is a hands-on field position supporting the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of aerial fiber optic telecommunications infrastructure. You'll work alongside Aerial Linemen and the OSP Aerial Foreman to help place fiber optic cable, strand, hardware, guy wires, anchors, and other materials needed for aerial construction projects.

• Support Aerial Linemen and other crew members with the successful completion of assigned aerial construction projects.
• Assist with pulling and placing fiber optic cable, strand, and other equipment used in aerial construction.
• Install equipment and safely use assorted small hand and power tools.
• Operate approved vehicles and bucket lifts safely while following Company, safety, and traffic requirements.
• Perform basic daily vehicle checks, including fluid checks, cleanliness, and vehicle organization.
• Assist with traffic control in accordance with applicable local and state DOT guidelines.
• Operate and care for approved construction equipment and machines.
• Prepare jobsites by removing obstacles and hazards, staging tools and supplies, and maintaining a clean and safe work area.
• Load and unload construction materials and assist with temporary structures when needed.
• Provide ground support for employees performing elevated work and assist skilled crew members as directed.
• Maintain proper inventory on assigned vehicles based on work assignments.
• Follow supervisor instructions, participate in on-the-job training, perform site clean-up, and complete other assigned duties.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience in construction, telecommunications, utility construction, aerial construction, or a similar field preferred.
• Valid driver's license required and ability to meet Company and insurance requirements for operating Company vehicles.
• Basic understanding of construction principles, jobsite safety, tools, materials, and equipment.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, work orders, safety procedures, and direction from the OSP Aerial Foreman and Aerial Linemen.
• Ability to safely operate manual, mechanical, hand, and power equipment necessary to complete assigned work.
• Must have or be able to obtain knowledge of aerial cable safety systems, including proper setup, use, and emergency procedures.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of an aerial construction crew.
• Must be safety-conscious, dependable, and attentive while working around aerial construction activities, traffic, vehicles, and equipment.
• Must be comfortable working outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions, terrain, and active construction environments.

• Aerial Fiber Construction Experience
• Telecommunications or Utility Construction Experience
• OSHA Certification
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL) - strongly preferred, but not required
