We're looking for an Assistant Project Manager I to support the planning, execution, and closeout of high-pressure gas pipeline and facility construction projects across the western U.S. Working under the direction of a Project Manager or APM II, you'll assist with scheduling, cost tracking, DOT documentation, and field coordination on pipeline construction, regulator stations, and maintenance programs. This is a foundational role with a direct path to APM II and Project Manager.

This position is office-based in Coalville, UT, with frequent travel to project sites. Some assignments may include extended field rotations.

Project Focus:

  • High-pressure gas pipeline construction and maintenance
  • Regulator station and facility construction support
  • Anomaly dig and gas system maintenance program coordination
  • DOT-regulated pipeline documentation and compliance support
  • Associated oil and gas construction projects
What You’ll Do

Both Levels

  • Support project delivery from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Assist with scheduling, cost tracking, documentation, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
  • Attend project meetings, record minutes, and track action items.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance.
  • Coordinate internal communications between estimating, field, and management teams.

APM I
- You’ll focus on

  • Day-to-day project coordination tasks under direct PM supervision.
  • Building foundational knowledge of construction sequencing, contracts, and field operations.
  • Basic cost tracking, schedule monitoring, and material delivery coordination.

APM II
- You’ll independently lead

  • Cost forecasting, budget variance analysis, and detailed financial reporting.
  • Interpretation of complex construction documents and engineering plans.
  • Direct coordination with licensed engineers, regulatory agencies, and clients.
  • Guidance and support for APM I staff and project coordinators.
What You’ll Bring

APM I

APM I

  • 0–3 years in construction, utility project support, or a related field.
  • Active enrollment in or completion of a bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred; comparable field experience accepted.
  • Internship or co-op experience in project coordination is a plus.
  • Familiarity with pipeline construction, DOT documentation, or gas utility operations a plus.
  • OSHA 10-Hour required or completed within 90 days of hire. Valid driver’s license required.
  • Spanish language proficiency preferred.

APM II
APM

  • 2–5 years of progressive gas pipeline or utility construction experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage project documentation, cost controls, and client coordination with increasing independence.
  • Familiarity with DOT Part 192/195, PHMSA regulations, OQ documentation, or weld integrity tracking.
