Freelance Graphic Designer (Project-Based Contract)
August–November 2026 (Opportunity for additional project-based work throughout the year)

Compensation:

Utah Film Center is seeking a talented freelance Graphic Designer to support our marketing team on a project-by-project basis. The initial engagement will focus on designing printed collateral for our Fall 2026 programming, including our Utah Queer Film Festival, Artist Foundry, and year-round film screenings. Additional design projects may be available.
We’re looking for a creative, detail-oriented designer who can work within established brand guidelines and pre-existing design templates while bringing fresh ideas to each project. The ideal candidate is collaborative, communicates proactively, and consistently delivers high-quality work on deadline. You’ll work closely with the Marketing Manager to develop compelling visual materials that help promote Utah Film Center’s programs and connect audiences with independent cinema.
Projects may include:
- Printed marketing materials including postcards, flyers, posters, brochures, programs, signage, and event collateral
- Updating existing Adobe InDesign and Illustrator templates
- Creating new templates and visual assets that align with Utah Film Center’s brand standards
- Preparing print-ready files and coordinating with printers as needed
- Maintaining visual consistency across multiple programs and campaigns
- Designing digital assets for web, email, and digital advertising
- Incorporating feedback and managing multiple project deadlines
Qualifications:
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator and In Design
- 2+ years of professional graphic design experience (freelance, agency, or in-house)
- Knowledge of print production and prepress requirements
- Experience designing both print and digital marketing materials
- Strong typography, layout, and visual storytelling skills
- Excellent attention to detail and file organization
- The ability to manage multiple deadlines independently
- Professional communication skills and a collaborative approach to feedback
- Familiarity with Google Workspace
