Robert Koch Gallery, an established San Francisco gallery specializing in photography, is seeking an experienced Framer / Art Preparator to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of professional framing experience and be skilled in manually cutting windows in 8-ply mat boards, fitting large works with spacers and glass, and handling photographic works of art, including packing works for shipment and storage, as well as artwork installation.

Responsibilities

• Precision mat cutting, including hand-cutting windows in 8-ply mat boards
• Fitting large framed works with spacers and glass
• Handling, packing, and preparing fine art photographs for shipping
• Maintaining an organized work area and inventory of framing and gallery materials
• Installing artwork as needed, including large-scale works

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of professional framing experience
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
• Strong basic math skills
• Background in photography and art handling, with knowledge of archival framing standards and materials for photographic artwork, is a plus
• Art handling and installation experience preferred

Our gallery maintains a clean, well-equipped workspace. We do not cut moldings in-house, as all custom frames are outsourced.
