This role involves collaborating with a graphic design team to implement designs across multiple platforms, including but not limited to offset printing, wide-format printing, social and digital media. The primary goal is to promote the state's agriculture through graphic design by creating printed materials, specialty publications, reports, logos, visual displays, and more, for the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and the U.S. Department of Agriculture's National Agricultural Statistics Service (USDA NASS).

Candidates should be proficient with current industry-standard graphic design software to create vector graphics, social media graphics, charts and graphs, and other design elements. Designs will be developed based on both oral and written specifications. Work will be performed under general supervision and evaluated based on quality, accuracy, and client satisfaction. Employees may also be required to perform additional duties as needed.

The Graphics Unit’s primary role is to offer graphic design and printing support to NCDA&CS divisions and their partners. It also supports the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Agricultural Statistics Service (USDA NASS) at the national, regional, and field office levels. This work is conducted under a Memorandum of Understanding between NCDA&CS and USDA NASS.
