Part Time Worship Leader

Lake Norman Vineyard is looking for a Part-Time Worship Leader to help lead and develop the worship ministry of our church.

We are looking for someone who loves the Vineyard, values the presence and work of the Holy Spirit, and wants to help cultivate authentic, congregational worship within a relational church community.

Our desire is to pursue musical excellence without becoming performance-driven. We want our teams to be well prepared and musically strong while remembering that our primary purpose is to help people encounter and respond to God.

The Worship Leader provides primary leadership for Sunday morning worship and oversees the production teams and systems that support the service.

Responsibilities include:

• Plan and lead congregational worship on Sunday mornings.
• Select songs that fit the Vineyard tradition and the ministry direction of Lake Norman Vineyard.
• Collaborate with the Senior Pastor regarding sermon themes, special services, and worship direction.
• Prepare services through Planning Center.
• Schedule musicians and vocalists.
• Lead weekly rehearsals.
• Encourage and develop worship-team members both musically and spiritually.
• Create opportunities for qualified emerging musicians and worship leaders to begin serving on Sundays.
• Oversight for our A/V teams including sound, livestream, classroom and lobby feeds, and Pro Presenter/slides

We want to intentionally develop musicians and worship leaders from within the congregation.

We currently have leadership in place for both Youth Worship and Small Group Worship Leader development. The Worship Leader will work collaboratively with these leaders, along with other ministry leaders, to identify people with musical gifts and leadership potential and help create a healthy pathway for their continued development.

As musicians and leaders demonstrate musical competency, reliability, spiritual maturity, humility, teachability, and a heart for helping others worship, the Worship Leader will help create appropriate opportunities for them to begin serving with the Sunday Worship Team.

• Has a growing relationship with Jesus and an active life of worship and prayer.
• Is comfortable and aligned with Vineyard theology, worship values, and ministry practice.
• Has experience leading contemporary congregational worship.
• Has strong vocal and/or instrumental ability and can effectively lead a band.
• Values congregational participation and Spirit-sensitive worship over platform performance.
• Has a heart for identifying, encouraging, and developing other people.
• Is dependable, humble, relational, teachable, and collaborative.
• Is comfortable with Planning Center or willing to learn it.
• Familiarity with live sound, live streaming, presentation software, and church production systems to train and support volunteers.
• Wants to be part of the life and community of a local Vineyard church, not simply lead worship on Sundays. We believe church staff should be part of the church community they serve. The Worship Leader will build relationships throughout the congregation and participate in the broader life of Lake Norman Vineyard.

Compensation: $12,000.00 - $15,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications
