Screenwriter - single-camera workplace - a job post by Alexander Ruiz
I am seeking an experienced comedy writer to script a 30-minute TV pilot and series pitch document (Show Bible) for a single-camera workplace comedy.
The series centers on the high-energy, high-stakes world of high school football coaches. In the style of The Office or Abbott Elementary, the show balances sharp mockumentary humor, fast-paced banter, and quirky character dynamics with grounded, genuine heart.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate on story structure, character arcs, and overall season planning.
Write a 5–10 page Series Pitch Bible (including show overview, main character profiles, and episode loglines for Season
1).
Draft a complete 30-minute TV Pilot Script (~30–35 pages in standard Final Draft screenplay format).
Execute up to two (2) rounds of revisions based on creative feedback.
Qualifications &
Experience:
Strong background in comedy writing, dialogue, and scene construction.
Familiarity with the single-camera / mockumentary narrative style.
Understanding of sports culture, coaching dynamics, or athletic program management is a major plus (though deep football expertise is secondary to strong comedy chops).
Project Terms & Scope:
Type: Work-For-Hire / Ghostwriting Contract (Client retains 100% IP rights).
Deliverables: Outline/Treatment ➔ First Draft Pilot ➔ Revised Pilot + Series Bible.
Timeline: Flexible / Milestone-based
Compensation: Competitive flat fee paid per completed project milestone (negotiable based on experience).
