The Content Strategy & Storytelling Manager is responsible for shaping and driving TNC Africa Region's content vision, editorial strategy, and storytelling agenda. This role serves as the primary architect of compelling narratives that showcase conservation impact, elevate partner and community voices, strengthen donor engagement, expand influence, and deepen audience connection with the organization's mission across Africa. This is a highly specialized content leadership position requiring exceptional editorial judgment, narrative development expertise, and demonstrated experience translating complex conservation, scientific, and community-based work into compelling stories that inspire action and support.
Through exceptional writing, editing, interviewing, and production, this role will help TNC Africa demonstrate conservation impact and deepen connections with strategic stakeholders and audiences. The position leads the development of strategic content plans and manages the end‑to‑end storytelling process, from story identification and field reporting to writing, editing, multimedia production, publishing, and performance analysis. The role collaborates closely with conservation, policy, philanthropy, and Marketing and Communications experts, both regionally and globally, to ensure content aligns with organizational priorities and engages audiences through powerful, authentic, and evidence‑based storytelling.
In partnership with creative agencies, photographers, and videographers, the incumbent will identify, develop, produce, and publish high‑quality storytelling assets. Nature.org will be the primary delivery platform, complemented by video productions, blogs, podcasts, photo stories, and other creative multimedia formats. The role reports to the Director Marketing & Communications - Africa and shall be based in any country where TNC has offices, in Kenya, Tanzania, Gabon, Zambia, South Africa, Angola.

By joining the Africa Marketing and Communications team, you will help bring our Big 5 Irreplaceable Landscapes story to life and connect donors with the people, places, and conservation outcomes their support makes possible.
Content Strategy & Editorial Leadership Develop and own the Africa content and storytelling strategy aligned with regional priorities, conservation objectives, philanthropic engagement goals, and organizational brand standards. Establish an editorial vision and annual storytelling roadmap that identifies priority themes, narratives, audiences, and content opportunities across Africa. Lead content planning processes to ensure a consistent pipeline of high‑impact stories throughout the year.
Define storytelling frameworks, editorial standards, voice, tone, and content governance practices. Advise leadership and program teams on strategic storytelling approaches that strengthen audience engagement and showcase impact. Identify emerging stories, trends, and content opportunities that support regional priorities and strategic objectives.
Story Development & Narrative Creation Serve as the lead storyteller, writer, and editor for the Africa region.
