Photographer
Create images for University publications, internal/external customers and websites as directed by Managing Photographer. Staff Photographer responds to photo assignments and proactively makes images that document the life of the University. Staff Photographer will also archive photographs into University catalogs in a timely manner and maintain and secure University photography equipment. Staff photographer will also coordinate with Managing Photographer in maintaining and updating photography calendar.
Staff photographer may interact with members of external media and the community while on assignments. Typical schedule takes place during regular business hours (8am – 5pm). Upon occasion, photographer is responsible for photographing during long extended or weekend hours.
A four-year college degree, preferably in photography, and 1-2 years' experience are required. Must have professional level of expertise in digital editing, workflow, and color management as well as be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Bridge, and Photo Mechanic). Effective communication both verbally and in writing. Ability to intuitively reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature.
Excellent computer and organizational skills. Regularly required to lift up to 75 pounds. If the employee is required to travel in performing the duties and responsibilities of the position, the use of one’s personal vehicle (or LU vehicles) may be required for travel. Proof of a valid driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, LU Driving Approval, and liability insurance is required when driving in the performance of the employee’s position.

Pay RangeCompensation is determined based on factors such as qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, along with University needs and external market conditions. Market benchmarks may be used, as appropriate, in combination with internal equity to ensure pay is fair and aligned with the broader compensation structure.
The position may also be eligible for comprehensive benefits , including health insurance, retirement plans, and tuition assistance.
