Full Time Multimedia News & Sports Broadcaster
KBEAR 92.3 (KBRY-FM) is hiring a full-time Multimedia News & Sports Broadcaster to create, manage, and deliver audio, video, and written content across radio, podcasting, digital, and social platforms.
This hands-on role, based in Broken Bow, Nebraska, offers the opportunity to build your on-air presence, call high school games, and tell stories that matter to people across central Nebraska. It’s ideal for someone who enjoys connecting with the community, solving problems, and taking ownership of their work.
Local news reporting and high school sports coverage are the primary focus of this position, with audio, video, and basic graphic design work supporting that coverage and station promotions.
The position includes evening and weekend assignments for sports and news coverage, with opportunities to expand your role as your skills and experience grow.
What You’ll Do- Provide live play-by-play for high school sports broadcasts
- Research, write and edit local and regional news and sports stories, including coverage of community meetings and events
- Interview community members, news makers, coaches and athletes
- Host and produce newscasts, sportscasts and radio shows
- Create, edit and publish supporting content for digital and social platforms, including audio, video, podcasts and basic graphics
- Manage projects from recording through publication, coordinating timelines and assets to deliver accurate, polished content on deadline
- Strong interviewing, reporting and news writing skills
- Clear, engaging on-air delivery, including the ability to provide live sports play-by-play
- Ability to edit audio and video into polished content ready for broadcast and digital distribution
- Proficiency with digital and social media platforms
- Basic graphic design skills and the ability to create clean, professional visual content
- A valid driver’s license
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
